Napoleon III Painted Tôle Cabinet, circa 1880s
Very unusual Napoleon III iron cabinet, painted with a wood trompe-l’oeil. Elegantly outlined in black tubular iron, lending definition to its elegant lines: the bombé bottom section, the cabriole legs, and the ogee-shaped top, as well as the pointed finials. The door has a mirror in the upper section, and opens onto shelving space (wood shelves).
